Cash Math 1- Next week we will complete our fraction unit with a test on Friday. We might possibly have to go into the next week with the test being moved. I will let the students know on Wednesday. We will for sure have a vocabulary quiz on Wednesday. The students have a list of words to study. Our next unit will be over measurement. This will involve solving problems that involve measurement and estimation of intervals of time, Cashliquid volumes, and masses of objects. If your child hasn't finished their facts tests to 12, please help them study. Great websites are honorpoint.com and multiplication.com.

Cash Math I: Next week we will learn how a fraction can be part of a group, and how to draw diagrams to solve fraction problems.  Please continue to practice multiplication with your child. Two great websites are honorpoint.com and multiplication.com. These websites are very helpful.

Cash Math II: We just finished the first half of our fraction unit with a test today. The students have worked hard. Next week we will learn to use strategies to compare fractions. We are almost ready for our banana split party! Almost everyone is finished with their timed multiplication test!! Two great websites to practice multiplication and fractions are honorpoint.com and multiplication.com. Both websites are very helpful.

Cash Math I: Next week we will continue with fractions. Our focus will be on equal shares, unit fractions of a whole, and fractions on a number line. We will continue to review multiplication with timed tests. Please practice at home with your child. They know what they need to study.

Cash Math II: We are winding up the first half of our fraction unit. There will be a test on Thursday. A practice test will be Tuesday. The students can use the practice test as a study guide. Next, we will begin a unit on comparing fractions. If your child has not passed all of their timed multiplication tests please practice more at home.

Cash Math I: We will have our final multiplication test on Wednesday. We will then be ready to start learning about fractions. Please continue to practice multiplication with your child. We will continue with timed tests.

Cash Math II: We have a busy week ahead as we continue to study fractions.  We are learning to use fractions greater than one, and how fractions can be part of a group. Most have passed timed tests in multiplication!

Math 1-I am really excited to be working with this group in math. I have had most of the students for reading, so most will know my expectations. Next week we will be learning more about multiplication. Our main focus will be finding unknown numbers and patterns in multiplication. We will also be using the distributive property to solve problems. Please practice multiplication facts at home with your child. Those that finish their facts through 12 will be rewarded with a Banana Split Party.

Language Arts: We will continue reading A Day's Work. A tes twill be given over the story on Tuesday. We will also have a singular and plural noun test on Tuesday. Wednesday we will have our test over context clues. We have been reviewing these skills all week. Please look over the papers your child has brought home. On Thursday we will begin learning about text features as our new reading skill. Look for worksheets to be sent home to review.

The spelling pretest will be on Thursday with the final test on Friday.

Math-We are working hard as we learn the propertis of multiplication. We are focusing on the distributive and associative properties. The students are still taking timed multiplication tests. Please practice with your child at home. We have finished 2's, 4's and 5's. Right now your child should be memorizing their 3's.

Cash Math: We will continue learning multiplication strategies next week. Along with memorizing facts, the students need to be able to draw diagrams to solve multiplication problems. These include models and arrays.  We will be working on 3's and 4's next week. Please help your child memorize these facts at home.

 

Cash Reading: We will continue to focus on main idea with a test on Thursday. Study Island is a great way to study for this test. We will also continue to read The Courage of Sarah Noble. Please look for reading assignments over this book. We will not have spelling words next week due to Pioneer Day on Monday and being out on Election Day.

 

 

Science: We are learning about animals and their traits. Please review the study guide each night.
